FAQs

  • The initial evaluation will differ for everyone, but generally we discuss the information your provided on your intake forms. I ask oodles of question to really understand your situation. Typically I do a head to toe posture analysis, I check strength, range of motion, and sometimes an internal pelvic floor assessment is completed at the first session. Typically it occurs at a future session after we go over what to expect and what and how I plan to assess. The internal pelvic floor exam can be a vaginal or rectal assessment depending on the symptoms. I only assess internally if you consent. It is never something that is required. It can, however, be helpful in guiding your plan of care.

  • No! Ok maybe. CT is a direct access state, which means you don’t need a referral from your doctor to work with me. If, however, you plan to submit for reimbursement from. your insurance company you may need an MD referral. I always remind clients to check with their insurance company requirements before we start working together.

  • I am an out of network cash based physical therapy practice. What does that even mean Rachel? I do not directly negotiate with any insurance companies which means I can focus our treatments 100% on your goals and needs. I don’t have to adhere to their regulations that can really limit your treatment. If you have out of network coverage, I have a company that will submit your out of network claim. She is the most amazing human and does the exhausting work of getting your insurance company all the bits and pieces they ask for so you can get reimbursed for your treatment sessions. I can also take HSA and FSA. Don’t let out of network scare you from getting the quality care you deserve.

  • This can be extremely variable. Since we work 1-on-1 we can accomplish so much more in a session. I rarely work with someone more than one time a week. Our goal is to make you 100% independent and capable of managing your care on your own. In the beginning we might meet weekly to ensure we are on the right path toward meeting your goals. Then we gradually increase the time between sessions until you don’t need me. The timeline is extremely variable based on what you have going on and how long it has been going one.
