Hey! I’m Rachel, owner of One Womens Health!

We are an independently-owned orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapy and health coaching practice serving Southeastern Connecticut. I believe true healing can only come with a whole body and individualized approach to treatment. We will work together to develop a thorough treatment plan to improve your movement, function, and overall quality of life. A treatment plan that actually focuses on you and your needs, not one that requires us to jump through health insurance hoops.

Because I know firsthand how frustrating our healthcare system can be.

From my time in the United States Coast Guard to becoming a mother to my daughter, Sydney, my son, Beckett, and most recent addition Maryn, I routinely encountered siloed, ineffective, and sometimes outright hostile women’s health care.

I wanted to be part of the solution, not the problem.

This is why I’ve pursued a focus in women’s health and pelvic floor therapy.

As a Physical Therapist,  I have experience in the treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions related to pregnancy, intra-partum, postpartum, pelvic floor, urinary and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, lumbar, pelvis, sacroiliac, and hip dysfunction. As a health coach, I also completed my health coaching training with the Integrated Women's Health Institute. In general, I never stop researching and learning and I love working with patients to give them the tools and education to heal themselves, because I truly believe you are your most effective healer!

The Process

  • Discovery Call

Step 1: During this free 30 minute discovery call, we will talk about what you have been experiencing and how it is impacting your life. I will give you my honest input and let you know how physical therapy can help you, if it can.

  • The Evaluation

Step 2: During your first appointment, we review your intake paperwork and pertinent medical history. Then there is a head to toe musculoskeletal assessment. Depending on what you are seeking physical therapy for, there may be an internal pelvic floor muscle assessment. This does not always occur on day one and 100% does not need to if you are not comfortable with that.

  • The Plan of Care

Step 3: After the initial evaluation, we will have a better idea of all the musculoskeletal factors that might be contributing to your condition. We align our plan with your goals and then continue to assess at every session. Your goals and your vision of health and wellness is our 100% focus throughout your healing journey!
